Wetsuits / Protective Wear

A wetsuit is a garment, usually made of foamed neoprene, which is worn for diving or other watersports. It provides thermal insulation, protection, and buoyancy. The foamed neoprene contains "bubbles", which add to insulate the body as well as provide bouyancy. Further improvements in the seals at the neck, wrists and ankles are features in a suit known as a "semi-dry", which allows very little transfer of water inside the suit. Semi-dry suits can provide thermal protection down to the 50 degree F range. Different types of wetsuit are made for different uses and for different temperatures. Wetuits range from a thin (2 mm or less), to a full 7 or 8 mm semi-dry, usually complemented by neoprene boots, gloves and hood.
